Nick and Carissa
Twas the night before Thanksgiving in 2004, November 24th to be exact, Carissa, Jen (Nick's sister) and Gina (Carissa's cousin) were at Chickie and Pete's enjoying the company of friends and indulging in some drink. Jen and Gina were best friends and had always hung out together. Carissa had been invited out that night with them. Nick also had been out with his friends. Jen called Nick to see how things were but it was pretty lame at the bar where he was, so Nick and a few of his friends came over to Chickie's.

Nick came into Chickie's and didn't meet up with Jen and Gina right away. Nick came into the bar and saw Carissa sitting alone. He turned to his friend Josh, and before even being introduced to Carissa, told his friend Josh "that girl at the bar is gorgeous!" prompting Josh to immediately reply, "Nick, you're such a dork!" Nick, too scared, or perhaps maybe a bit too intimidated, didn't approach Carissa right away. Later that night, Carissa's feet were hurting and she wanted to go. Gina was off talking and so was Jen. Carissa went to look for Jen and found her talking with a group of her friends. Among them was Nick. Carissa approached the group and, as she did, Nick called his sister out saying, "Jen, that's so rude....why don't you introduce me?" Jen introduced Nick to Carissa. He somehow found the courage and put his arm around Carissa and asked her if she would like some of his Red bull and cherry vodka. Carissa was flattered at the offer (???) but replied by saying, "no...that stinks." and shot him down. Despite the awesome pick up line, Carissa opted to stay and get to know Nick.

The next day, Carissa received a text mesage from an unknown number. The text read, "You are red-hot!". Carissa called the number back and Nick answered. But even though Carissa called him a geek for sending that text message, Nick re-affirmed his text message by spelling it out on the phone to her "R-E-D-H-O-T" and then asked her out on their first date to the Phantoms game. That first date led to a many more dates until Nick proposed to Carissa on 7-7-2007, hoping that the 7-7-7 number combination would be his lucky day.

Nick had bought the engagement ring many months earlier and had planned a romantic evening. Nick made a candlelight dinner and proposed, dropping to one knee. Carissa said, "Yes" and their future as husband and wife began.
